Prof. WANG Jiahai from Shandong University was invited to visit Institute of Intelligent Machines (IIM), Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 18th. Prof. Wang gave a lecture titled “Nano Pore Molecular Recognition”.
Prof. WANG Jiahai’s main research areas include the preparation and application of biomimetic artificial nano pore, assembly of biomedical devices using the technology of solid state folding paper, design and preparation of nucleic acid nano materials and biological applications, etc. In the report, Prof. Wang detailedly introduced the preparation of nano pores, functionalization of nano pores, the characteristics of nano pores molecular recognition, the detection of heavy metal ions, diagnosis of disease, and other areas of application. The lecture attracted many researchers and graduate students, and they had a heated discussion on the preparation of nano pores, functionalization of nano pores etc.
Prof. WANG Jiahai got his PhD in 2008 at University of Florida, USA, and has worked at University of Washington since 2008. Now, he is the Professor at University of Shandong University, focusing on the research of nano pores molecular recognition. He has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Nano letter, Nanomedicine, Ana. Chem. and Chem. Commun.
