The first cruise ceremony of unmanned intelligent police patrol craft was held by Chaohu Lake branch of Hefei Public Security Bureau at the Swan Lake on the afternoon of July 3, 2017. Government departments are present at the ceremony , Chaohu Lake branch of Hefei Public Security Bureau, Emergency office of Hefei, Water Emergency Rescue Team of Hefei, Economy and Information Technology Commission of Hefei, Hefei Maritime Bureau, Hefei Waterway Administration Bureau, Chaohu Fishery Management Center, Government of Hefei Shushan district, Municipal Administration of Shushan district,  Shushan Urban Administrative Enforcement Bureau, Hefei Technical Engineering Innovation Institute of CAS, Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, as well as Anhui CAS-Huacheng Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd., which is responsible for the developing of the unmanned intelligent police patrol craft.

Anhui CAS-Huacheng Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd. (ZKHC) is affiliated to Heifei Institutes of Physical Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASHIPS). Professor LIU Jinhuai and associate Professor YU Daoyang are shareholders of ZKHC depending on their research achievements as the intangible assets. Unmanned intelligent security craft as one of the core products of ZKHC is mainly used for comprehensive safety warning, prevention and controlling of lakes such as Swan Lake, especially for drowning surveillance and rescue.

More than 64 people have drowned in Swan Lake since Swan Lake was officially opened to the public in 2004. Hence, it’s highly necessary to provide support for security monitoring and emergency rescue of Swan Lake through high-tech means. Chaohu Lake branch of Hefei Public Security Bureau elicited requirements according to the actual situation of Swan Lake, and ZKHC affiliated to CASHIPS is in charge of the research and development of unmanned intelligent patrol craft. The core technology and functions of the craft including autonomous cruise, automatic obstacle avoidance, target automatic identification, early warning, sky-water-land linkage system, voice driving, sound and light alarm, light guidance, current video transmission, multi-mode remote control, risk assessment, communication link, self-return, underwater detection, grid precise positioning, et al. Besides, Chaohu Lake branch of Hefei Public Security Bureau has set up “Swan Lake comprehensive security control system” in which the unmanned intelligent patrol craft is the core composition. The security control system consists of unmanned intelligent patrol craft, shore-based infrared and optical video surveillance systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, high-speed rescue boats, frog emergency teams, urban management patrols, handheld communication terminals, underwater detection and integrated safety monitoring platform, et al. The establishing of the security control system will provide strong technical support for the effective control and emergency treatment of drowning accidents.

The patrol craft is expected to be further promoted and applied to the security precautions and patrolling of the rivers, lakes, reservoirs, coastal waters, waterways, scenic waters, et al..
