Xiaohu Gao is Associate Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Washington. He received his B.S. degree from Nankai University and Ph.D. degree from Indiana University, Bloomington. From 2004 to 2005, he obtained Postdoctoral Training in Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University, Atlanta. Dr. Gao's research interests include:nano science and engineering, multiplexed biomolecule screening & drug discovery, molecular diagnostics, In vivo molecular imaging and targeted and traceable drug delivery. His group is working on nanomedicine, which is the use of engineered nanostructures for detection, analysis and treatment of human diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases and neurological diseases.He has published over 40 papers in world’s top scientific journal . The papers are now cited over 7,000 times, and one of them has been cited over 2,000 times and ten of them were selected as cover stories of top magazines, like Nature Biotechnology and Adv. Mater.
